The Ceremonial Honor Guard is comprised of officers from within the Police Department.  These officers participate in variety of ceremonial events.  The twelve officers who make up the Honor Guard represent the Police Department and Township throughout the tri-state area. The unit conveys to the public and other government agencies the highest standards of professional excellence, pride and integrity of this police department.

 

            The Honor Guard participated in numerous events in Mahwah such as the Memorial Day parade,   D.A.R.E. graduation, 9-1-1 Memorial Ceremony, the Veteran’s Day ceremony and also in Mahwah Day ceremonies. In past years the Honor Guard has also been invited to represent the Township in national events such as the Mardi Gras parade in New Orleans and the St. Patrick's Day parade in New York City. These type of events put Mahwah on the map on a national basis as a premier law enforcment agecny.  As the Townships Color Guard, the Unit presented the National Colors at all these events.
