Local residents should be aware of the following Ordinances regarding snow removal and overnight parking within the Township. Violations of either of these local ordinances may result in a summons being issued and may require an appearance in Municipal Court. The purpose of this Ordinance is to ensure that the Department of Public Work plows have clear access to plow and salt the roads after a snowfall, and that sidewalks are clear of snow for pedestrians.

Parking is prohibited on all streets in the Township between the hours of 12 Midnight through 6 A.M. from November 15th - April 15th. Exceptions may be made if Police Headquarters is contacted but this cannot not be guaranteed if inclement weather is predicted.

Parking is PROHIBITED on all streets whenever snow removal operations are underway.

Snow removal along sidewalks is the responsibility of the property owner and must be completed within 12 hours of the completion of snowfall.

Township Ordinance 7-3.8

1. "Whenever snow has fallen and the accumulation is such that it covers the street or highway, no vehicle shall be parked on either side of any streets or parts thereof"

2. "The above parking prohibitions shall remain in effect after the snow has ceased until the streets have been plowed sufficiently and to the extent that parking will not interfere with the normal flow of traffic."

"Any unoccupied vehicle parked or standing in violation of this subsection shall be deemed a nuisance and a menace to the safe and proper regulation of traffic and any peace officer may provide for the removal of such vehicle."

"The owner shall pay the reasonable costs of the removal and storage which may result from such removal, before regaining possession of the vehicle."

Township Ordinance 15.1

15-1.1 Removal from sidewalks by Owners or Tenants.

"The owner or tenants of the lands abutting or bordering upon the flag or concrete sidewalks of the public portion of the streets of the Township shall remove all ice and snow from the portion of such sidewalks whereon such lands abut or border within twelve (12)hours after the same shall be formed or fall thereon and other impediments therefrom within three (3) days after notice to remove same."

Snow removed from driveways and sidewalks is prohibited from being pushed into the roadway.
